PROJECTS
STRING: ACQUISITION (NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT)
A $127M upstream acquisition in Caribbean that enabled the development of offshore gas asset, that had been stranded for 30 years. A high cost, low resource density asset was developed with competitive scoping, resulting in 20 % cost reduction. The development team worked closely with deal team during deal-identification and deal-delivery phases on asset valuation and identifying value creation opportunities, and worked with asset-team post acquisition to help develop the asset realizing the value.
URDENETA WEST : CAPITAL PROJECT
Delivered an infill development plan to unlock 334 million STB; reserves from oil field in Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela. Main challenge was the partner, a national oil company that was financially and technically constrained.. Saved more than $100 million in diluent cost by drilling infill wells, frac-jobs and stimulations. Increased production by 20 KBPD by implementing 12-well appraisal and development plans. Developed static / dynamic models to screen drilling locations and coached NOC staff.
NEMBE CREEK FIELD : BROWN FIELD ASSET MANAGEMENT
Delivered a field development plan to increase production and develop remaining reserves (~500 million STB). Managed production performance of more than 100 existing producers in 29 reservoirs producing at a rate ~ 150 KBPD. Developed reservoir surveillance plans for 29 reservoirs to investigate productivity improvement. Added $600 million value by infill drilling six wells (developing 50 MMSTB). Added $58 million gain by identifying quick-wins in ten wells that increased production by 10 KBPD. Participated in Annual Review of Petroleum Resources (ARPR) for the assets to help in strategic portfolio decisions.
SOKU LNG PROJECT : CAPITAL PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
Delivered a Field Development plan (FDP) for the supply of gas from Soku field to first Nigerian LNG. Costs escalated and wells failed. Optimized the development plan. eliminated the lowest performing wells and replaced their production with extended reach lateral wells (accelerated depletion). Received award for achieving First gas on time.
MISCIBLE GAS PILOT : EOR
Designed a lean miscible gas pilot for tight carbonate formation offshore Abu Dhabi in certain areas that failed to respond to water injection. Designed data gathering plan from observation well to study the sweep. Conducted SCAL and slim tube experiments to understand miscible injection performance
LOUISIANA : CARBON CAPTURE STORAGE (CCS)
Delivered the feasibility of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) from unconventional gas field and a chemical plant in Louisiana. The assets carbon footprint was large, It was estimated that project would cost $200 million; to geologically sequester the CO2 volumes ( 0.15 - 1.0 mtpa)
